Imperial cities tour morocco 5 days

Day 1: Marrakech - Ouzoud Waterfalls - Beni Mellal

The first day of the tour we will leave Marrakech at 8 o'clock in the morning in a northeasterly direction until we reach the impressive Ouzoud Waterfalls. After visiting that wonder of nature, we will end the day in the city of Beni Mellal, where we will spend the night.

Day 2: Beni Mellal - Azrou - Ifrane - Fez

The second day, after having breakfast, we will continue our journey in the direction of Fez through the mountains of the Middle Atlas, passing through the towns of Ifrane and Azrou. During the journey through the cedar forests you can enjoy watching the Barbary macaques or monkeys of Gibraltar.

Day 3: Fez

The third day of the excursion is reserved for you to visit Fez, the oldest imperial city in Morocco, founded in the 8th century by Moulay Idriss II.

We will visit the Medina of Fez el-Bali, one of the largest preserved medieval sites in the world, declared a World Heritage Site more than 30 years ago.

After the Medina, we will see the Medersa Attarine, one of the most beautiful Koranic schools in Fez. The following points in the itinerary are the Ennajarine Fountain and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, founder of Fez.

Then we will go to the Karawiyin Mosque, belonging to the Karawiyin University, the oldest in history, founded in the year 880 and, finally, you can visit the Medina of Fez Jdid, the new part of the city.

Day 4: Fez - Meknes - Roman Ruins of Volubilis - Rabat

The fourth day we will leave from Fez in the direction of the Atlantic coast to visit Meknes, one of the most important imperial cities of the Moroccan territory. There you can visit luxurious palaces and beautiful mosques as well as some of the most important souks in Morocco.

After Meknes, we will head towards the Roman ruins of Volubilis, an authentic monument declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

We will finish the day in the capital of Morocco, Rabat, where we will visit Méchouar (the ramps and walls that surround the Royal Palace), the Kasbah of Oudayas and the magnificent mausoleum of Mohamed V and Hassan II. We will spend the night in Rabat.

Day 5: Rabat - Casablanca - Marrakech

The last day of the excursion we will visit the well-known city of Casablanca, economic and cultural capital of Morocco. There we will see some of the most important places in the city, such as the Mosque of Hassan II, one of the largest in the world.

After visiting Casablanca we will take the road back to Marrakech, where we will arrive around 5:00 p.m.
